Roman's Roofing offers three different varieties of cedar shakes:

1/2" & 3/4" PT Cedar

This high quality shake features a rough split face and sawn back. Design to blend with natural and/or rustic surroundings, these shakes are particularly popular on traditional, ranch, and vacation homes.

Life Pine

Made from a truly renewable resource, farm raised Southern Yellow Pine, LifePine shingles offer lasting beauty, easy installation and no required maintenance

Installation

The installtion process for cedar shake roofing is as follows:

  • Remove existing roof down to the wood decking
  • Inspect decking for rot and deterioration (add'l charge if found in deck, fascia or rafters)
  • Install new drip edge
  • Install synthetic underlayment
  • Install metal trims in valleys
  • Flash where necessary
  • Install ice and water shield
  • Install cedar shakes with felt underlayment to protect each layer
  • Cut and install ridge vent with matching hip and ridge shingles
  • Install new plumbing and electrical boots
  • Clean gutters
  • Magnet sweep
  • Clean and haul away all job-related debris
